A weekly gathering of moving, reading, and creative exploration of academic texts, poetry, essays and more alongside community.
About this Event

THE WHATS:

Movement Philosophy is a space to gather together to read writings (articles, poems, songs, essays, & more) and explore them through movement, the arts, and community. In an attempt to take the academy outside of the institutional walls, in an attempt to tap into the wisdom innate within our bodies, in an attempt to trust the wisdom of the land, how might we be in relationship to the text alongside one another? Your favorite elements of a college lecture (the discussion, duh), meets embodiment explorations, meets community engagement, meets reading circle adjacent! We will gather for a small meditation and check-in, followed by a quick guided movement, reading of our texts together, discussion, followed by more movement, creative exploration (writing/drawing/making of any kind), before we close out with a final discussion time.
