More than tools: how AI is rewiring what customers expect

What this session is

Most of the AI conversation is about what the technology can do. This talk is about what it's doing to us.

Every tool we adopt changes us. GPS eroded our ability to navigate. The internet took our patience. It happens quietly, and mostly we don't notice until the new expectation is already normal. AI is the fastest and most personal version of this yet, and it's already changing how your customers decide, buy, judge quality, and choose who to trust.

We'll look at where customer behaviour is heading. Why tolerance for waiting and effort is collapsing. Why customers now arrive already briefed, sometimes by a machine that described you. What happens to the value of your work when anyone can generate a decent first draft in seconds. And why, when everything can be faked, proof and accountability become the things worth paying for.

About the host

Ben Inder - Ben is Managing Director of TPA, a creative and marketing agency across Guernsey and Jersey, and an Executive Director of Channel Islands Media Group. He leads AI adoption across both. He's interested in the tools just as much as their effect on the people using them, and the customers on the other end.

He also co-hosts The Shift, a podcast on how AI is changing business, and increasingly, how it's changing us.
