A morning of connection, conversation and action to build a stronger, healthier and more resilient local food system in the Monadnock Region
About this Event

How do we move from feeding people, to ending hunger, to building a local food system that nourishes us all?

Join the Monadnock Food Access Alliance on Saturday, November 7, from 9 AM–12 PM at the United Church of Christ in Keene for the Monadnock Food Resiliency Summit, a morning of conversation, connection, learning, and action centered on strengthening our regional food system.

Our region is home to farmers, food producers, retailers, food pantries, community organizations, healthcare providers, advocates, gardeners, volunteers, and neighbors who are already doing incredible work. This summit is an opportunity to bring those voices together, learn from one another, and ask what we can accomplish when we approach food access not simply as an emergency need, but as part of a resilient local food system.

The morning will feature keynote remarks from Hannah Flanders, co-founder of Kearsarge Food Hub and Sweet Beet Market & Cafe, followed by breakout conversations exploring healthy food access in rural communities, policy and advocacy, growing your own food, the case for a Monadnock food hub, and Food as Medicine.

This isn't just a conference for people who work in food. Everyone has a place in this conversation. Whether you're a farmer, gardener, business owner, nonprofit professional, healthcare provider, policymaker, volunteer, student, or simply someone who cares about your community, we hope you'll join us.

Come ready to learn — and to get involved.

The summit will also include opportunities to turn conversation into action. We're seeking community members interested in helping with local food-box distribution for seniors and participating in NH Food Bank SNAP enrollment training.

We'll also be collecting food for The Community Kitchen and Monadnock Pantry Collective. Attendees are encouraged to bring a case of canned vegetables or make a monetary contribution if they're able.
