About this Event
This workshop is designed to help participants use social media safely, confidently, and responsibly while protecting themselves and their families online. Participants will learn about popular social media platforms, common online risks such as cyberbullying, scams, grooming, impersonation, and privacy threats, and how to recognize and respond to harmful online behaviour. The workshop also explores digital footprints, safe sharing practices, account privacy and security settings, responsible use of AI tools, and the importance of protecting personal and family information online. Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to identify risks, support their children in navigating digital spaces, report harmful content, and make informed decisions when engaging with social media.

Prerna Seth. A Cybersecurity & Data Management Program Co-Manager at The Women's Centre of Halton, Prerna helps build digital confidence in people & the communities she serves. With an engineering background & an MBA, she brings both technical depth & a big-picture perspective to everything she does. Prerna holds a Diploma Certification in Cybersecurity Analytics & Cloud Operations from York University.
