About this Event
Mini Folk Presents: Afternoon Concert & Craft Session
A warm and creative gathering for toddlers, parents, carers – and anyone who loves music and making things.
We invite you and your little ones to The Magic Ggarden Battersea for a cosy afternoon concert led by Multi instruentalist singer-songwriter Alice Phelps ft some of London's finest musicians as guests, alongside a hands-on spring craft table hosted by Mini Folk organiser Dila V.
Craft Time:
Celebrate the season with spring-themed animal portraits using leaves, natural textures, and sparkles. There will also be plenty of playful craft materials for open, sensory creativity.
About the Music:
Alice Phelps is a multi-instrumentalist, performer and creative practitioner, as well as a devoted mum. Bold, intuitive and deeply imaginative, she creates high quality, immersive artistic work that bridges disciplines and communities.
As a performer, Alice sings and plays harp alongside a constellation of other instruments, her powerfully husky voice carrying stories across soundscapes that feel both ancient and otherworldly. Drawing on folk traditions from near and far, from Celtic roots to Eastern influences, she weaves delay, blues motifs and intricate rhythmic textures into a rich tapestry of contemporary and traditional forms.
Why Mini Folk?
We believe great live music should be for everyone.
No more missing gigs due to bedtime, and no need for little ears to hear only “children’s songs.” Mini Folk creates space where all ages can share in music, creativity and community together, in daylight, with space to play.
Come as you are.
No pressure.
Lots of joy.
Leave with leaves stuck to your jumper and a song in your head. 🍁🎶
