The Saturday reset you didn't know you needed, brought to you by a room full of tiny, long-and-low Dachshunds.
Welcome to Mini Dachshund Puppy Yoga by Yoga Kawa in Markham. This is one hour of easy, beginner-friendly yoga shared with a litter of Dachshund puppies who have absolutely no interest in your to-do list and every interest in climbing onto your mat uninvited.
This class welcomes participants ages 12 and up.
Dachshunds are bold little personalities in very small bodies. They're curious, confident, and surprisingly determined for something with legs that short. Expect nose-first investigations, dramatic flops across your shins, and at least one puppy who is certain your water bottle is a threat.
Here's how the hour breaks down:
- 35 minutes of easy, beginner-friendly yoga
- 20 minutes of connection and cuddle time
- 5 minutes of sharing circle
Why people keep coming back
Puppy yoga in Markham does something a regular yoga class cannot. A puppy wanders over, parks itself against your leg, and your nervous system just... exhales. There's no performance, no pressure, and no wrong way to do it. People come for the novelty and come back because it genuinely makes them feel better.
A note on Dachshund puppies
Dachshunds were bred to hunt, which means they are fearless, inquisitive, and have a flair for the dramatic. They tend to bond quickly, follow people around the room with purpose, and have a bark that is much larger than their body suggests. In a yoga setting they tend to be social and surprisingly snuggly once they've done their initial investigation lap.
Bringing the family?
This class is open to participants ages 12 and up. Anyone under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian who also participates and helps the teen move gently and interact safely with the puppies.
Mats provided. No experience needed. Whether you've never done yoga in your life or you just need a very good excuse to spend a Saturday morning on the floor with Dachshunds, this class is built for you. Come as you are.
