Mindful Making: A Fall Gratitude Mandala Using Earth’s Offerings

This year, we’ve spent time exploring creativity together through The Artist’s Way and our Creative Living series. Now, for the first time, we’re making space to create something meaningful together.
Join Vera V. Chapman for a gentle, hands-on exploration of creativity, mindfulness, and gratitude inspired by the changing season. Rather than focusing on artistic skill or creating something “perfect,” this experience invites us to slow down, work with our hands, and discover what can emerge when we create with intention.
Together, we’ll use fallen leaves and other natural materials to create a collaborative gratitude mandala—layering our individual reflections into a shared work of art. Through mindful reflection and creative expression, we’ll make space to notice what has sustained us, what we’re grateful for, and what we want to carry with us into the season ahead.
Participants are encouraged to bring a few natural findings —colorful fallen leaves, acorns, twigs, seed pods, feathers, or anything else autumn leaves in your path. You may also arrive a little early to gather from the grounds. Additional materials will be available.
No artistic experience is needed. Just come as you are, ready to slow down, create, and connect.
PROGRAM DETAILS:
Format: Guided reflection and facilitated crafting workshop.
Registration: Space is limited; members receive early access. Participants must confirm their registration before attending.
Time & Place: 3-4:30 PM, LCA at the Red Brick Schoolhouse, 145 N. 4th Street Lewiston NY 14092
Please note: second-floor location, stairs only.
Arrival: Please arrive by 2:55 PM for a prompt start and to support a full and uninterrupted experience for all participants. You may arrive on the grounds earlier to gather natural materials.
Preparation: Please bring a few natural findings (fallen leaves, acorns, twigs, seed pods, feathers, etc.).
