About this Event
The journey to a Global Talent Visa or Innovator Founder Visa is more than paperwork, evidence or business plans.
It's hope, uncertainty, hard work, self-doubt, and the courage to keep going. And often, we go through it alone.
The MigrantMinds Trek brings together migrant professionals & entrepreneurs, who are preparing for the GTV or IFV and people who have already achieved it. We'll walk from the centre of Peterborough, past the Cathedral, along the River Nene and through Nene Park. We'll share our stories, meet people who truly understand the journey.
What we'll do together
- Walk 6-8 miles (10-13 km) at a comfortable community pace
- Join outdoor masterclasses and informal conversations on:
- 📋 Global Talent and Innovator Founder Endorsements
- 💼 Finding jobs and opportunities in the UK
- 💰 Managing personal finances as an immigrant
- 🚀 Startup fundraising and entrepreneurship
- Hear practical advice from people who have been through the journey themselves
- Share a picnic light lunch & drinks (Included in your ticket) and network with the community
Who is it for: GTE and IFE applicants and aspiring applicants, endorsement holders who want to give back, jobseekers, founders, and anyone building a life and career in the UK.
Limited to 15 participants, to keep the group small and the conversations real.
What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, a waterproof jacket, a water bottle, light lunch included with your ticket but you are free to bring anything else that you would like to eat & share, a small backpack, your phone, a sit mat or small foldable picnic mat, and a notebook or laptop if you'd like to take notes. Presentation files will be available offline, so you won't need Wi-Fi.
Getting here: Peterborough is easily reachable by train. Please arrange your own train travel to and from Peterborough. There is no event parking.
Important: The sessions are educational and based on shared experience. They are not regulated immigration, legal or financial advice. The trek is subject to weather and ground conditions, and the itinerary may be adjusted slightly on the day to keep the group safe and comfortable.
