About this Event
The Midlands has a wealth of health research, clinical and innovation expertise. The Midlands Health Alliance (MHA) Industry gateway is being co-created with businesses to make it easier for industry to find and connect with the capabilities they need across the region.
Bringing together organisations and expertise from across the East and West Midlands, the Industry Gateway provides a route for industry to engage with researchers, clinicians, NHS organisations, universities and innovation partners across the MHA network.
Connect with the Midlands health research and innovation ecosystem
This co-creation event will provide opportunities to have your say on how the Industry gateway should be shaped, alongside opportunities to:
- Meet researchers and clinical experts from across the Midlands and understand where their expertise could align with your business or innovation.
- Explore the region's research and innovation capabilities, including the strengths of its Biomedical Research Centres and wider research infrastructure.
- Understand how to engage with the MHA Industry Gateway and navigate the expertise and opportunities available across the region.
- Hear directly from industry about what businesses need from research and innovation partnerships and what makes collaborations work.
- Discover examples of successful industry collaboration and how partnerships can contribute to innovation, business growth and skills development.
- Build connections with potential research, clinical, NHS, academic and innovation partners.
The programme will bring together perspectives from across industry, the NHS, academia and research, with sessions exploring the Midlands' capabilities, opportunities for collaboration and what industry needs from the region's health and innovation ecosystem.

What to expect
The programme will include presentations from the NIHR Midlands' Biomedical Research Centres (Leicester, Birmingham and Nottingham), industry speakers and panel discussions exploring the relationship between industry and health research.
Sessions will cover the region's research strengths and capabilities, what industry needs from successful partnerships, examples of industry collaboration and the wider innovation environment across the Midlands.
There will also be opportunities to meet researchers, innovation specialists and organisations from across the MHA network, with exhibition and networking opportunities throughout the day.
