About this Event
A conversation with Michelle Tea around her new novel Little F, a raw, romantic, and darkly funny queer coming-of-age on the open road.
After a violent attack at his Arizona high school, Spencer sets out in search of the queer utopia he’s imagined, hitching rides across America with his best friend, a teenage witch named Joy. From desert rituals to drag stages, bus stations to the French Quarter, Little F traces a journey into a world of messy, searching, vividly alive queer lives, and the beginnings of his own.
Tea is the author of more than a dozen books across memoir, fiction, poetry, and children’s literature. Her cult memoir, Valencia, won the Lambda Literary Award and became a feature film made by nearly 20 directors. Her essay collection Against Memoir won the PEN/America Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award. A longtime force in queer literary culture, Tea founded RADAR Productions, co-created Sister Spit, and launched Drag Queen Story Hour, now a global phenomenon. She also hosts the mystical podcast Your Magic and is the author of the cult guide Modern Tarot.
