About this Event
Meet the Trees: Oak Printmaking Workshop, Bloomin' Crumlin is an in-person art and nature workshop for the local community.
About the workshop
How many corporate logos can you identify? Now how many trees can you identify? Don’t feel bad, it’s not your fault. Trees don’t have a marketing budget. They don’t go out of their way to announce sales or try to convince you that you’ll live your best life if only you’d try their newest product. They quietly stand there, steadfast, in the background as we go about our lives.
It’s time to meet the trees.
In this joyful workshop, you will meet an oak tree as you never have before.
You’ll learn how it sustained generations and shaped civilization. You’ll learn about the thousands of creatures that depend on it. You’ll learn what it does for us today, and you’ll learn to identify what it needs from you.
You’ll leave with oak stories, a new perspective, and a fresh piece of art that you will make in collaboration with the tree. No previous art skills necessary and all materials will be provided, including foraged iron oak gall ink.
