Join Leighton House & Sambourne House Museums at the library, and enjoy a hands-on experience of objects from the Museum's collection.
About this Event

Join the Leighton House and Sambourne House museum team for a series of Object Handling sessions exploring extraordinary objects from the museums’ collections. This is a relaxed opportunity to discover what museum objects can tell us about the past.

Participants (16+) are also invited to bring along their own historical objects (this could be something decades or centuries old, but it must be easy to carry and display on a small table).

Equally, feel free to come along without an object, discover what others have brought and join in the conversation!

The workshops will take place in Local Studies on the First Floor of the library. Please ask a member of staff if you need assistance in finding the room. Refreshments will be made available after the workshop, in a separate area, to protect the objects and collections.

The sessions will take place on:

Thursday 22nd October 2026 – 1:00 – 2:00pm

It's completely free and everyone is welcome, so please come along and enjoy!
