About this Event
Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery continues its Austin Artist of the Month program with Megan Jaster, an Austin-based painter whose immersive oil paintings move between the subconscious and the natural world.
On November 1, Jaster joins us from 12 to 4PM to introduce her new body of work, talk through her process, and walk visitors through what is on view.
Jaster's practice is deliberate and layered: beginning with photography, live models, and research, she constructs digital collages as compositional studies, incorporating AI-generated filters as part of her visual thinking. The final painting is left open to intuition. Old Master technique meets a thoroughly contemporary process.
Her work stays on view through November 30, when the next Austin Artist of the Month takes over the wall.
