We are teaming up to bring you a series featuring some of our favorite super basic, entry level DIY skills. We handpicked Matriarchy Build’s top Pros to share introductory tips and guidance on some of our favorite evergreen DIY home projects.

But wait….it gets better! We are also carving out another hour of OFFICE HOURS so you can share what projects you’re working on with our Pros and get personalized tips and advice.

Home Tool Essentials w/ Beth P., MB Pro and Tool Expert for Stanley, Black & Decker

Power tools can be intimidating to understand, learn and use. Come hang out with other beginners and learn about the essential power tools to use at home from pro and Stanley Black & Decker expert Beth P.  The session will have a general overview of the core pieces that are useful for renters, homeowners and basic DIY-ers.  There will be live demos and also hands-on opportunities for a select few volunteers to test out each tool as well.

Drywall Patching 101 w/ Cat TK, MB Pro and Lead Handyperson

Learn how to repair drywall through a step-by-step walkthrough with MB lead handyperson, Cat. In this session, you’ll leave with the confidence to patch up everyday holes and damage.  We’ll overview the basic steps and materials needed, provide a detailed demo and even give some attendees a hands-on opportunity to repair some drywall.  You’ll be able to take the principles of what you learn and apply to the many types of wall damage you’re looking to fix.

Caulking 101 w/ Paige P., MB Pro, and Head of Redemodeling 

Caulking may be “detail” work, but when it’s not done properly it can stick out like a sore thumb. MB’s Head of Remodeling, Paige, will lead a session on the basics of caulking and how to make it look and last like a pro.  We will focus on bathroom-specific use cases, but the knowledge you’ll walk away with can be applied to other needs such as weatherizing your home.
