About this Event
This talk is an advanced technical deep-dive into the future of power electronics, where we explore how innovative co-design of circuits and magnetics can drastically minimize energy storage requirements.
Magnetic components' cost, size and loss inhibit progress in power electronics. The required size is largely driven by the energy storage required, and co-design of circuits and magnetics to minimize energy storage can result in small and efficient converters. Examples presented will include magnetics for high-current-density low voltage power delivery at >4 A/mm2, and new circuits to replace 60 Hz transformers, including in V2H bidirectional EV charging.
Doors will open at 5:30pm with opportunity to grab some light dinner and network with fellow attendees and the seminar will start at 6:00pm.
All students must register with their *.edu emails.
