❤️A Life Well Lived
Jesus Paningbatan Dela Cruz was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the age of 72. Born in Aguilar, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Crispin and Consuelo Dela Cruz, Jesus lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and service to others.
Jesus grew up in Aguilar until immigrating to San Jose, CA in 1980. His older sister Lonnie was used by God to help them on their stay here in America. He worked various mechanic jobs and ran a “JD’s BBQ” business in the 1980s until dedicating his career in the county at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) as a transit mechanic for more than 25 years.
His childhood in Aguilar instilled a lifelong passion for being a handyman and gardening, and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. He is very proud of doing all the fixing and repairing his San Jose home for the past 30 years. He was very active and strong, building all sorts of home projects and doing his daily walks in Lake Cunningham park, or “Calibunga!” as he would say. He loved to hangout and watch airplanes near the SFO airport.
He was a devoted member of the San Jose Church of Christ for more than 20 years, where he found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving as a deacon and elder and recently, mission and charity work in the Philippines. Known for his warm smile, generous heart, selflessness, unwavering faith, and jolly personality, Jesus touched countless lives with his love and encouragement.
He is survived by his 6 children, Jerome, Jeffrey, Jesus Jr, Joseph, Jessie Anne, and Jonah; 4 grandchildren: Isabella, Amihan Raine, Oliver, and Aliyah Marie; and his 2 siblings (Willie and Evelyn). He joins those who finished their earthly race ahead of him, including his spouse, Anacleta, and his older sister, Lonnie.
