About Max Childs
Max Childs and his band bring an energetic and intimate performance that pushes the boundaries of live pop music. Raised in Upstate, NY, Max has been performing across the upper east coast since 2015 headlining and supporting artists such as Danielle Ponder, Juice, and Nahko and Medicine for the People. Having performed at The Great Blue Heron Music Festival, Finger Lakes Grassroots, and Finger Lakes Thaw Max’s music has touched audiences far and wide.
Childs found his musical voice as a means for expression, beginning his songwriting journey at a young age following the loss of his mom. His songs blend heartfelt lyricism with sounds he heard on the radio driving around with his dad, a unique blend of Motown, 80’s rock and funk music. Described as one of Upstate, NY’s most unique bands, Max Childs keeps you moving in your mind, body and soul.

Based in Ithaca and Trumansburg, NY, in the heart of Upstate New York’s Finger Lakes region, Louiston’s acoustic-centered Americana isn’t exclusively folk, indie, rock n’ roll, country, bluegrass-ish nor ragtime; it’s all of those genres – and more – mixed into the pot and simmered over medium heat, with dashes of melodic skate punk and bebop jazz to taste.
