Making new friends in London shouldn't feel awkward. This October, Lagoon is taking over Matcha Mochi, Old Street for an intimate social experience built around matcha, good food, games, laughter and genuine connection.
With only 35 spaces available, Match & Mingle is about putting the phones down, getting out of your comfort zone and actually meeting new people. Coming alone? Perfect. In fact, we encourage it. Our Lagoon team will be there from the moment you arrive to welcome you, make introductions and make sure you're not left wondering who to talk to.
Break the Ice:We’re kicking things off Lagoon-style with a fun, interactive icebreaker designed to get you moving, laughing and meeting new people from the start.
And because we love a little friendly competition… and there might just be something up for grabs too, no awkward intros. Just good vibes and an easy way to break the ice.Then it's time to grab a matcha, coffee or sweet treat and keep chatting with the people you've just met.

This is where we take things beyond small talk.
Our Lagoon Speed Friending experience is powered by Intelligent Change, using their renowned Get Closer conversation cards, alongside the Team Edition, to help you build genuine connections.
You’ll rotate between different people as the prompts move from light and fun to more intentional conversations, giving you an easy way to meet people you probably wouldn’t have spoken to otherwise. Just real conversations, new connections and maybe even a new friend.
Matcha + Delicious Food:
Good conversations, deserve good food. We'll have a dedicated Food + Social Break after Speed Friending, giving you time to purchase something delicious from Matcha Mochi, grab a drink and sit down with someone you've just met.
You'll be able to purchase from the café's selection of matcha, coffee, sweet treats and food throughout the event. Even better, Lagoon guests receive 12% off the Matcha Mochi menu during Match & Mingle.
Games, Laughs & Lagoon Energy:
We'll get everyone involved in Lagoon-style team games designed to get you laughing and interacting with even more people. Expect a little competition, plenty of laughs and probably some unnecessary confidence from somebody's teamBut we're keeping it wholesome: Participation > winning around here.
Then We Let You Mingle:
Not every minute needs to be planned. You'll have proper time to socialise, grab another drink, take pictures, and join the Digital community with the people you've met. Maybe you came knowing nobody, hopefully, by this point, that's changed. To close will share our appreciation and talk abouts what's coming next for the community, in November and December.
