The day after Halloween, November 1st, join us in the circle for a special intention to somatically experience the removal of the masks we wear day-to-day. If you notice yourself:
* Adjusting to fit the room
* Minimizing your expression/needs
* Appeasing everyone else
* Exhausted from 'Compassion Fatigue'
* Performing vs. BEING
You're not alone.
One day a year, many of us dress up and embody somebody/something other than ourselves, yet if we look closer... it can be a daily, even moment to moment exchange of many various masks:
> The mask of the parent / brother / sister / partner
> The mask of the boss / manager / employee
> The mask of the healer / guide / coach
The importance is not in the fact that we mask, it's in the awareness that they're even on our face.
Which is exactly the purpose of this months drum circle, to physically witness ourselves in the ways we mask so that we can consciously choose, rather than be unconsciously controlled by it.
We have a bulk of assorted Masquerade masks that will come free of charge when you purchase your pass to the circle via our online checkout: thecosmicpulse.com/drumcircle
You can also either bring your own mask or costume, or purchase a masquerade mask at the door for $5. (mask and costume optional)
It will still be the fun, energetic, regulating experience - just with a shared intention to physically and symbolically "unmask" and play as our fullest, unedited selves.
Plus, stick around for a share circle over a potluck feast. (bring something if you like)
