Ten out of Ten: The Continuing Relevance of God's Law
Why should the ancient words of the Ten Commandments be seen to have continuing authority and relevance to Christians today and to our contemporary civil society? The perspective of many Christians today has shifted radically from the convictions of past generations of Christians in our land. Is this to be resisted or welcomed? On what basis should we continue to see the Ten Commandments as fundamental for the well-being of human society in all generations?
In this year’s Martyn Lloyd-Jones Memorial Lecture, Rupert Bentley-Taylor will explore these important and often controversial questions. He will consider the place of the Ten Commandments in the Christian life and also in wider society, and what they reveal about the unchanging character and purpose of God.
With his characteristic combination of biblical depth, clarity and pastoral warmth, Rupert will help us think carefully about the continuing significance of God’s law, while challenging us to consider how its wisdom speaks into the world in which we live.
Join us on 20 October at 7:30 pm for what promises to be a thought-provoking evening as we explore the continuing significance of the Ten Commandments and consider what they have to say to us as we face the challenges of contemporary life.
