Get ready to race! Join us for an epic Mario Kart Grand Prix Tournament at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Indianapolis. It's the perfect chance to show off your skills, challenge friends, and have a blast in person. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, the fun is guaranteed. Grab your favorite controller, rev those engines, and let's see who takes the crown!
On Wednesday, September 30th at 6:30 PM, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Indianapolis is hosting a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament in Theater 6 — and we're only taking 24 registered competitors. All skill levels welcome, 18+. All items on. Blue shells allowed.
Doors open at 6, check in by 6:20 or forfeit your spot!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Three stages of racing, one Grand Final on the big screen, and one winner walking away with 4 free movie tickets.
Stage 1 — Group Heats starting at 6:30 PM
24 players split into 6 heats of 4. Everyone races twice. Top 2 from each heat advance — 12 players move on.
Stage 2 — Semi-Finals (8:00 PM)
3 heats of 4 players. Race twice. Top 1 from each heat automatically advances. The best 2nd-place finisher across all 3 heats earns the Wild Card spot — so every heat matters to the end.
Grand Final (8:45 PM)
Four finalists. Three races. The crowd watches every second on the Theater 6 screen.
Highest cumulative points wins.
GRAND PRIZE
4 Free Alamo Drafthouse Movie Tickets — awarded to the Grand Prix champion
FOOD & DRINK
This is Alamo — eating and drinking is part of the experience. All registered players are required to order a minimum of 2 items from the Alamo menu during the event. Your server will take care of you as soon as you're seated. Don’t miss the pizzas!

RULES SUMMARY
1. All registered players must arrive by 6:20 PM for check-in or risk forfeiting their spot.
2. 2-item food/drink minimum per registered player (water does not count).
3. Track selection is determined by the tournament organizer — no player input.
4. All results are final. No restarts due to item luck.
5. Ties are broken by a single 1-lap tiebreaker race.
6. Be competitive. Be a good sport. Have fun.
