Join internationally acclaimed lettering artist Marco Chioini for two days exploring the place where calligraphy, graphic form and abstract art collide.
In Embracing the Abstract, you’ll move beyond perfectly readable letterforms and experiment with rhythm, texture, movement, composition and expressive mark-making.
Marco will encourage you to loosen your grip on perfection, trust your instincts and begin looking at letters differently. Not simply as something to read, but as shape, line, texture and art. Flourish Festival of Letters & Art
This is a workshop for calligraphers ready to break a few rules, but it’s also fascinating territory for graphic designers, typographers, illustrators and artists interested in the expressive possibilities of letters.
You’ll leave with new techniques, greater confidence experimenting with your work, a deeper understanding of abstract composition and plenty of ideas to take back into your own creative practice.
