Brooklyn’s Boss of The Blues, Mara Kaye, is “one of New York’s great gifts to the world”. [Jazz Lives] With her larger-than-life presence and “a voice that sounds like Louis Armstrong’s trumpet at a rent party” according to blues legend Jimmy Vivino, she’s stomping her way back to Monk’s to deliver the baddest, bossiest blues she’s got. You will hear a cherry-picked collection of songs originally sung my Blues Queen royalty: Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Billie Holiday & many more letting you know that women truly are the boss !
Come see why The Wall Street Journal calls this vivacious Brooklynite “proof that things are getting better”
