About this Event
Join us for an evening of opera and instrumental music celebrating Leoš Janáček, performed by young singers and instrumentalists from Mannes School of Music.
Curated and directed by William Gustafson, the program explores Janáček’s musical world through his own works and those of Smetana, Dvořák, and Tchaikovsky, who helped shape his style, alongside Martinů, Britten, and Bartók, whom he inspired.
The concert continues Czech Center New York’s annual partnership with Mannes Sounds Festival. Founded in 1999 by pianist Pavlina Dokovska, the festival showcases emerging musicians in more than 20 concerts across New York City each year.
Presented by Mannes Sounds Festival in collaboration with Czech Center New York.
