About this Event
Come together to make a zine (or two) based on a tarot card from the Major Arcana! On top of creating a zine, we will talk about the history and politics of zines and the current zine scene in Seattle, practice folding zines, share our creations, and pore through a zine library.
About the instructor, Kristel Snow / Centipede Zines: Kristel (she/her) a queer Filipino writer, zine-maker, and barista. Kris’ writing and zines often discuss Filipino anti-imperialist politics, political education, and class consciousness. Though she largely self-publishes and distributes locally in Seattle, Kris’ short stories can be found in traditional literary magazines such as The Plentitudes, Temporal Lobe Literary, Speak the Sojourner, and more.
Our sliding scale for classes helps to reduce barriers for participation while retaining sufficient income for Seattle REconomy or our hosting partners at Reuse Commons Lake City. Please choose the level that best fits your household’s income. If cost is a concern, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to discuss options. This class is supported by the Seattle Office of Economic Development (OED) and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU).
