This free event is in conjunction with the exhibit of Art From Inside, a curated collection of artworks which have been sent to Prison Book Program by incarcerated people over the course of its 54 year history.
Make a Difference: During October's exhibit, New Bedford Free Public Library will be collecting book donations to send to local prisons.
The Prison Book Program is a nonprofit that supports incarcerated people by sending them free reading materials that match their needs and interests. Founded in 1972, this program holds nearly 200 volunteer sessions per year and is expanding to serve incarcerated readers in all 50 states.
