About the Season
Chief Inspector Maigret (Benjamin Wainwright) and his team of detectives return to investigate a new series of complex crimes. Maigret's unique brand of justice draws the critical eye of his mentor, Police Director Xavier Guichard (Nathaniel Parker), who decides Maigret needs to be taught a lesson — and deliberately weakens his team. With pressure mounting, Maigret is forced to choose between his personal life and his career.
About the Episode - "The Hanged Man" - Part I
In the season premiere, a decision by Maigret ends in a young woman's suicide, leaving him wracked with guilt. Determined to understand what happened, he investigates her death himself — only to find his search for the truth puts him directly in the path of people willing to do anything to keep it hidden.
