“The end has come (…) from here we can go no further, or rather we can, but from now on it is only and exclusively what one might call a sad descent…”
The Literarium audience will once again experience a ground-breaking and exciting performance, this time constructed from excerpts of five short stories and two novels by Nobel Prize-winning author László Krasznahorkai. Its central theme is the writer’s long-standing dilemma: art and the solitary nature of its consumption. By alternating between inner and outer perspectives, the production reveals that even within Krasznahorkai’s monologic, uncompromising depictions, polyphony can still emerge with the inherent playfulness of the texts amplified. This performance will be truly unique, as it presents the world-famous author’s oeuvre from a distinctive viewpoint through the powerful combination of his devastating texts with striking visual elements, complete with musical effects and distortion.
Works used in the performance: The Melancholy of Resistance, Christo Morto, Up on the Acropolis, A Murderer is Born, Herscht 07769, What Are You Looking At?, Private Passion
