Mabon Crafting with Intention: Besom WorkshopHave you ever wanted to make your own besom?
Join Kat for a hands-on three-hour workshop as we celebrate the season of Mabon and create your own full-size besom to take home.
We’ll explore some of the history and folklore surrounding the besom, its place in modern Pagan practice, and its use for symbolic cleansing, protection and the preparation of sacred space. Then you’ll learn how to construct your own broom using a hardwood handle and natural and coloured broomcorn.
As you create, you’ll have a selection of botanicals, ribbons, bells, charms and crystals available to personalize your besom and make it your own. You’re also welcome to bring a charm, piece of ribbon, dried botanical or other meaningful item from home that you would like to incorporate.
We’ll finish by exploring ways to cleanse, bless and dedicate your completed besom to the purpose you have chosen for it.
