About this Event
Ma is an independent singer/songwriter based in Charlotte, NC. Pulling from an eclectic blend of indie rock, R&B/soul, and country/folk influences, his style is defined by his distinctive vocals, high-precision guitar playing, catchy melodies, and politically-charged lyricism. In October 2024, Ma began playing his songs at weekly open mics. He released his first solo EP, Ghost, in May 2025, followed by a full-length live album, Ma - Live at The Evening Muse, in August 2025.
In the summer of 2025, Ma solicited the help of local musicians Timothy Chandler Hicks (drums) and Brett Ennis (bass) to record and perform live. They released their debut full-band EP, Fueled By Ma, in January 2026. They have since built a strong local following performing at historic venues such as Visulite Theatre, The Evening Muse, Snug Harbor, Petra's and The Milestone. They began performing as Ma & The Observers in July 2026.

James Delco is an indie singer-songwriter born in Venezuela, raised in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina. His childhood home was full of music that was as diverse in genre as it was in culture, providing an unintentional music education that serves as his main songwriting inspiration to this day. Discovering guitar at 15 and live performance at 19, he is a self-described “late bloomer” who taught himself writing, singing, and music production. In the Spring of 2020 he left the University of South Carolina to pursue a music career, and has been honing his craft in the live venues of the Carolinas ever since. In a world full of the noise from social media, James writes music for an audience looking for connection, questioning the world around them, or simply an escape.
