About this Event
Join us for a celebration of all the Lush Greens Community has achieved this year and in sharing the adundance and gifts of the land. There'll be good food and drink, a chance to hear what Lush Greens is all about, what we've achieved this year, and our hopes, dreams and plans for the future.
There will be apple pressing, food, farm tours and more.
This event is free and open to anyone, regardless of whether you've connected with Lush Greens before.
Rough timings are
All day - Apple pressing
11:00 - 12:00 Grab a slice of cake and a hot drink
12:00 - 13:00 Farm tour and hear what Lush Greens has achieved this year, and our thoughts for where next year might take us.
13:00 - 14:00 Delicious shared harvest meal cooked with veg from the Patch.
14:00 - 17:00 Wander round the market garden, chat and meet volunteers, staff and local people, involved in the project, plus games and perhaps even some gardening for those inclined.
17:00 Event ends
For those who've not heard of us before, Lush Greens is a non-profit community market garden in Hengrove, South Bristol. Our staff and volunteers collaborate to grow an abundance of beautiful, delicious vegetables and fruit based on organic principles for Food Banks, Food Clubs, other community projects and members of our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) scheme. We host volunteer days from Wednesday to Friday, and on the 1st Saturday of every month.
Donations
If you can bring any locally sourced apples for us to use to make apple juice on the day we would be very grateful as our apple harvest this year has been poor because of two years of consecutive droughts.
The event is free for all.
However, donations via the donation ticket option or on the day are of course welcome. All money will go back into the project to help grow vegetables and fruit for the different Food Banks and charities we support.
You can also contribute a one-off or regular donation on our giving platform: https://ko-fi.com/lushgreensbristol
Accessibility
Unfortunately the farm is not currently wheelchair friendly, it is uneven under foot in places, and can become slippery depending on the weather.
There is a compost toilet access by a few steps with a rail.
