W.R.A.P. is an evidence-based system designed to help individuals identify personal wellness tools, recognize daily maintenance needs, navigate stressful triggers, and create clear action plans for times of crisis and post-crisis recovery. Whether you are creating a plan for yourself or looking to better support loved ones, this training provides practical, empowering strategies grounded in peer support.
What You Will Learn & Create
- The Five Key Concepts of Recovery: Hope, Personal Responsibility, Education, Self-Advocacy, and Support.
- Your Personal Wellness Toolbox: Simple, actionable tools and daily routines to maintain mental and emotional wellness.
- Trigger & Early Warning Identification: Recognizing external stressors and early shifts in your well-being before things escalate.
- Action & Crisis Planning: Step-by-step guidance on creating proactive crisis and post-crisis recovery plans.
- Community Connection: Collaborative exercises and peer discussions in a supportive, judgment-free space.
Agenda
- 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Welcome, Five Key Recovery Concepts & Building Your Wellness Toolbox
- 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Lunch & Informal Networking Break
- 12:00 PM – 1:15 PM: Identifying Triggers, Early Warning Signs & Developing Crisis Plans
- 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM: Community Resources, Q&A, and Wrap-Up
What to Bring
- All participant workbooks, planning templates, and writing materials will be provided on-site.
- Feel free to bring a brown-bag lunch or snacks for the 30-minute midday break.
Location & Parking
The event will take place inside Bay 9 at the American Tobacco Campus (324 Blackwell Street, Durham, NC 27701). Parking is available in the North and South Parking Decks on the campus.
