Dive into the heart of Irish vampire lore on Wednesday October 14 at 11 AM when local writer and musician Mark Sisti leads a discussion on Celtic myths of the undead as part of the ICC’s Lunch and Learn series. Most people are familiar with the more common creatures from Irish myth and legend: the
leprechaun, the banshee, Cu Chullain. But did you know Ireland can stake a legitimate claim to
be the birthplace of vampire culture and the home of vampirism? In addition to being the birthplace of the two most famous vampire novels in history, tales of the undead are deeply rooted in centuries
of Celtic mythology, blending sorcery, bloodlust, and the eerie ambiance of the Emerald Isle. Irish vampire lore is a haunting tapestry woven from ancient Celtic beliefs, chilling folktales, and supernatural creatures that stalk the misty landscapes of Ireland.
