The Founders Tasting is an amazing, nine-course journey through Lumière's debut culinary collection, accompanied by thoughtfully curated wine pairings.
Each dish tells a piece of our story—some inspired by French classics, others paying homage to the city that shaped us.
The Culinary Journey
I. Caviar & Placki
Our journey begins with a delicate marriage of French luxury and Detroit's cultural influences: golden, crispy potato, crème fraîche, and caviar.
II. Rillettes
A celebration of French tradition and Michigan's Great Lakes, featuring salmon or smoked whitefish rillettes served with rye.
III. Courge & Cidre
A comforting butternut squash velouté elevated with brown butter and cider-donut croutons—a subtle nod to Michigan's autumn traditions.
IV. À la Detroit
A playful interpretation of French coastal cuisine, featuring garlic-parsley butter shrimp or escargots with a Detroit brick cheese finish.
V. Poulet Vernors
A distinctly Detroit creation. Tender chicken meets a glaze inspired by the city's iconic Vernors ginger ale.
VI. Côtelettes d'Agneau
Elegant French-inspired lamb chops showcasing the beauty of thoughtful preparation and classic technique.
VII. Steak au Poivre
A timeless French favorite, featuring tender steak complemented by a rich peppercorn sauce.

VIII. Poire Belle Isle

Our final expression of two culinary worlds: delicate French choux pastry, vanilla cream, chocolate, and peanuts.
