About this Event
Come to see your local food waste being turned into high quality compost through a forced air composting system focused on building dynamic microbial communities. Demonstrations on how to make compost extracts will take place as well as an opportunity to hear from an experts on what quality compost is and observe it under a microscope.
Bring your own bucket (BYOB) to take compost and/or biochar home, donations accepted.
Eat Local Week 2026 is hosted by Sunshine Community Harvest, a Sarasota-Manatee nonprofit that promotes a regenerative local food system. ELW is about a dozen events, this year November 1-15. For more information and tickets to all events go to the ELW Eventbrite collection.
