Zoë Knight & Mythical Beasts' Love Cycle is a short psychedelic art rock odyssey. The film, which includes five standalone music videos, accompanies the band's second album of the same name which was released in March of 2025. This conceptual five-movement song cycle chronicles one individual's journey from a lifetime of hyper-independence, through surrendering to the powers that be, to embracing community support. It is meant to remind us that we are better together, even (and especially) when we are apart.
The film was shot in several locations, but the primary and most inspiring location was Ekaterina Sorokina and Nicholas Shaplyko's Museum of Modern Renaissance in Somerville, Massachusetts. Meticulously crafted around a historic Masonic temple and now being considered for National Historic Landmark status, this unique immersive art space provides a backdrop where the lyrical themes of Love Cycle are visually represented - a context which gives even greater depth to the transcultural mysticism and universal human experiences each work speaks to.
The general public is invited to the premiere screening of Love Cycle at the Muesum of Modern Renaissance. The short (22 minutes) film will be followed by a live Q&A with Zoë, Ekaterina, and Nicholas, as well as the film's co-director and videographer, Patrick Hanlin of Revival House Studios.
The Museum of Modern Renaissance is not regularly open to the public, so the artists hope you will join them for this unique opportunity to experience and learn about the space from the people who made it, and to share in the magic of the arts coming together in harmony.
