Lou Diamond Phillips with Cowboy Sweetheart Live at Cafe Wha? | Wednesday, December 9th | 5:30 PM Doors, 6:30 PM ShowAbout this Event
Following Lou Diamond Phillips’ rise to international fame portraying Ritchie Valens in La Bamba, the actor and musician joined brothers Sherman and Bill Allen to form Lou Diamond Phillips & the Pipefitters. The band toured throughout the 1990s, culminating in a memorable appearance at Farm Aid.
Today, the Allen brothers have joined forces with powerhouse vocalist Mercedes Delavara to form Cowboy Sweetheart, an acoustic country and Americana trio based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The group spent the summer performing casino dates with Phillips and recording at Nashville’s renowned Aimeeland Studios, including music for an upcoming short film directed by Phillips. Recent engagements include Hollywood’s legendary Whisky a Go Go and George R. R. Martin’s Sky Railway in Santa Fe.
Blending decades of musical experience, rich vocals, and vintage American roots music, Cowboy Sweetheart brings a little Southwestern soul to the stage of Greenwich Village’s legendary Café Wha?
