About this Event
Lost Energy: Cycles. Exhibition & Half-Term Workshops
Venue: Stockwell House, Hauser & Wirth, 13 High Street, Bruton, Somerset, BA10 0AB.
What does energy look like, and how does nature speak to you?
Lost Energy: Cycles
Explore the fundamental truth that energy is never truly lost. Only transferred, renewed, and reimagined. Rooted in the rhythms of historic waterways, industrial mills, and modern hydropower, this exhibition visualises kinetic and natural forces through dynamic mobiles, wire armatures, light projections, and collaborative animation.
Collaborators:
The exhibition brings together a group of creative contributors:
- : Abstract painter and artist, James captures the raw energy and movement of the natural world with bold imagination and striking palettes.
- : Renowned photographer, David brings a painterly, documentary eye to the project. His imagery captures the subtle intersections of kinetic energy, industrial heritage, and the natural landscape.
- : Motion designer and director. Cal’s contribution of a split-screen video edit mimicking the push and pull of invisible flow of energy.
- : Multidisciplinary artist providing creative and curatorial support to the project.
Workshops
Alongside the main gallery showcase, interactive half-term workshops invite young people (aged 9 to 16) to step beyond rigid structures and explore how we belong within the landscape. Stop, look, and listen through a series of activities designed to forge tangible connections with the seasonal cycles essential to a brighter, cleaner and greener future.
Advance booking is recommended for entry and workshop sessions.
All materials are provided.
