Overview
Living with diabetes can involve a lot of information and different strategies. This session is designed to make some of the key areas easier to understand.
Join Tao Wu, Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator, and Christine, Registered Dietitian, for an afternoon of presentations focused on understanding diabetes and learning practical ways to support your health.
The session will include two presentations:
Understanding Diabetes

Learn what diabetes is, how it affects the body, possible complications, and important considerations for ongoing management.
Nutrition & Diabetes
Presented by Christine, Registered Dietitian
Learn how nutrition can affect blood sugar and explore practical strategies to support diabetes management through everyday food choices.
Topics will include:
- What diabetes is and how it affects the body
- Possible complications of diabetes
- Blood sugar management and monitoring
- Nutrition and blood sugar
- The role of exercise and physical activity
- Healthy lifestyle habits that can support diabetes management
