About this Event
Lived Experience Workshop: Help Shape Lewisham’s Suicide Prevention Strategy
Has suicide affected you or someone close to you?
Your Experience Matters: Join Our Workshop
By sharing your experiences and perspectives, you can help Lewisham Council develop and improve their approach to suicide prevention.
We would like to hear what could improve support for people affected by suicide. This includes people who have experienced suicidal thoughts or survived a suicide attempt, as well as those who have been bereaved by suicide. You are welcome to share only what feels comfortable for you.
How do you know if this group is for you?
- You are 18+ and live, study or work in Lewisham and have been affected by suicide.
- You feel safe and able to talk about your own experiences, and you’re comfortable seeking support or taking a break if needed during the session
- You feel safe listening to other peoples’ experiences, which may be similar to, or different from your own.
Why Participate?
- Share your experiences in a safe, supportive environment, with faciliation by peers with lived experience of the impacts of suicide.
- Help shape Lewisham’s approach to preventing suicide and improve support for people affected by suicide.
- Receive compensation (a voucher and refreshments) as a thank you for your time.
There are three lived experience workshops as part of this project, all for people aged over 18 who have been affected by suicide: people aged 65+; neurodivergent people; and open to everyone. This session is open to everyone.
