Director Richard Kroehling’s 2022 film “Art of Disappearing” will be the visual field into which will pour the music of The Jowls (Stephen Lewis and Will Rauscher among others) coupled with an extemporaneous verbal track from poet Sam Truitt, who has never seen the film. Truitt’s “sudden diction” coupled with the blasting of The Jowls will make a new sound track for the film, composed this very evening at Night Swim at the head of Broadway in Kingston. The Jowls are an upstate NY quartet with a blistering take on garage/psych rock and gnarly roadhouse blues with a few bleary-eyed country tunes for good measure. Plenty for fans of VU, Crazy Horse, Gram Parsons and early Fleetwood to relish here. Think Canned Heat meets Can.
