**Cue the Record Presents Vinyl Listening Session 034: John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman**As part of Coltrane 100, Cue the Record celebrates the centennial of John Coltrane's birth with a listening session centered on *John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman*. Released in 1963 on Impulse! Records, the album brought together Coltrane's tenor saxophone and Johnny Hartman's rich baritone for a collection of intimate jazz standards. By this point in his career, Coltrane had already established himself as one of the most important and adventurous voices in jazz, while Hartman had built a reputation as a distinctive vocalist with a deep connection to the American songbook.
