About this Event
Beginning this Wednesday, January 28, from 5 to 8 pm, Duane Powell's residency at The Land School will continue with the first session of a special biweekly Listening Hours series: "1976: In Retrospect."
Honing in on 1976—one of the most explosive years in the history of Black music—Duane will pay homage to a period defined by seminal releases, cult classics, and underground gems that hit airwaves, gracing dance floors and record stores alike. Together, we’re invited to steep in embodied listening to the sonic imprints from a year whose impact continues to reverberate fifty years on.
Join our resident partner, DJ, music historian, and cultural steward Duane Powell, on every second and fourth Wednesday each month as he digs into his personal archive of records released in 1976 on their golden jubilee.
