About this Event
This event is for pre-start and early-stage business owners in the South of Scotland — particularly those who are working alone or in the first few years of running their business, feel unclear on how to use LinkedIn effectively for their business, have a profile but aren't sure if it's working, or want to start generating leads and having sales conversations on LinkedIn without feeling pushy or uncomfortable.
It is also suitable for anyone who has been in business a while but feels their LinkedIn presence no longer reflects what they do, or who knows LinkedIn should be working harder for them but isn't sure where to start.
Attendees should have a LinkedIn profile already — free or premium. This session is not an introduction to LinkedIn from scratch but assumes basic familiarity with the platform. Bring a laptop or tablet so you can make changes to your profile during the session.
LinkedIn for Sales and Lead Generation is a practical, hands-on workshop designed to help small business owners turn LinkedIn from a platform they occasionally check into a genuine tool for building visibility, credibility and business development.
Most people on LinkedIn are either invisible or inactive. They have a profile that reads like a CV, post occasionally when they remember, and wonder why nothing much happens. This session changes that.
Grounded in the reality that buyers are 60–80% of the way to making a decision before they ever contact you, this workshop focuses on making sure that when someone checks your LinkedIn profile — and they will — what they find is clear, credible and compelling.
This is a laptop-on, profile-open working session. You'll be making changes and creating content as you go, not just taking notes.
What we'll cover:
- Why LinkedIn works differently in 2026 — and what the platform now rewards
- Your profile as a landing page, not a CV — headline, banner, About section and featured content optimised for your ideal client
- The Trust Funnel — how visibility on LinkedIn turns into real business opportunities
- Content that builds authority — the formats and formulas that work for small businesses
- Proactive lead generation — how to use LinkedIn search, save searches and identify your ideal clients
- Connection and outreach messages that get responses — without feeling like cold pitching
- A simple engagement plan you can actually stick to
What you'll leave with:
- An improved LinkedIn profile plan — headline, About section and banner
- A simple weekly engagement plan
- Confidence using LinkedIn as a proactive business development tool
What you need to bring:
A laptop or tablet with LinkedIn open and logged in. You'll be working on your own profile during the session so access to your account is essential.
Booking is free and open to businesses based in or operating within the South of Scotland.
