The Moon of Falling Leaves marks the turning of the season toward Samhain, when what has lived its season begins to loosen, decay, and return to the earth. This Esbat is a working of release, banishing, and decay: rather than preserving what has become exhausted, we deliberately break it down. Under the full moon, we give form to what we are ready to relinquish and mash it into something no longer recognizable, transforming decay itself into a spell of release (The Vile Mash)
