About this Event
Before nightlife became about VIP sections and bottle service, it was about the music, the dance floor, and the people who came together for the love of both.
For those who remember Charlotte’s legendary Mythos nightclub, you know the impact it had on the city’s dance music culture. With DJ and co-owner Andy Kastanas helping lead the way, Mythos became a home for underground house and dance music and unforgettable nights on the dance floor.
Carrying that same passion for authentic house music culture is Steve Howerton, DJ and founder of Dance Circle. Through Dance Circle, Steve continues to build a community rooted in real house music, dance, and connection, bringing together DJs, dancers, and music lovers who believe the dance floor is the heart of the experience.
Joining Steve is his longtime friend and musical partner, Charles Gatling, founder of Charlotte’s well-known Gravitate party. Together, they share a dedication to preserving and celebrating the spirit of real house music and the culture surrounding it.
Now, we’re bringing these worlds together at Soul Gastrolounge, connecting Charlotte’s rich house music history with the energy of today’s dance community.
LIKE WE USED TO is about getting back to what matters.
Real House Music. Real House Culture. Real Connection.
From soulful and deep house, tribal, and Afro House to disco classics, we’re creating a space where the dancers are the performers and the music brings everyone together.
