A Tiny Heroes Autism Family Initiative
Marina Leads the Way is the newest initiative of Tiny Heroes, created to support and advocate for children on the autism spectrum and their families. The initiative was developed with a simple but powerful belief: no child should be overlooked, and no family should have to navigate the journey alone.
Through community events, family advocacy, resource navigation, educational outreach, and fundraising efforts, Marina Leads the Way aims to connect families with the information, services, and support they need to help their children thrive.
Our inaugural Autism Family Resource & Fundraising Event will bring families, advocates, community organizations, service providers, and resource partners together in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Families will have an opportunity to learn about important resources and services, ask questions, connect with organizations, and gain practical information to help them advocate for their children. Topics and resources may include autism services, OPWDD navigation, educational support, developmental services, family advocacy, community resources, and other supports available to children and caregivers.
But this event is about more than resources. It is about community, connection, empowerment, and giving families a place where they feel seen and understood.
Marina Leads the Way was created to help bridge the gap between families and the systems designed to support them especially families who may face barriers related to language, culture, finances, access, or simply not knowing where to begin.
As a Tiny Heroes initiative, Marina Leads the Way will continue working toward creating greater awareness, access, advocacy, and opportunities for children on the spectrum and the families who love and support them.
The event will also serve as a fundraising initiative to help support Tiny Heroes' continued community outreach, advocacy, family programming, and efforts benefiting children and families.

Raising a child on the autism spectrum should never mean doing it alone. Join us for an evening of community, real answers, and real resources for families who are navigating autism and the OPWDD system.

Why we’re gathering
Marina Leads the Way was born from love. It is a Tiny Heroes initiative, created in loving memory of founder Linda Martinez’s daughter, Serenity Martinez-Lombardi, and inspired by a little girl named Marina on the autism spectrum who changed Linda’s life. Tonight turns that love into action: connecting families to the knowledge, support, and community they deserve.
