Tear paper, layer color, and turn a glass votive into a glowing watercolor-style keepsake. Japanese chigiri-e for beginners.About this Event
A SHIFT HAPPENS Workshop hosted by The Restoration Refugee
Some days call for a softer kind of light. This is an invitation to slow down, rip that SHIFT up, and let color do the talking.
Chigiri-e is the Japanese art of torn-paper pictures. The feathered edges blend like watercolor, so there's nothing to get wrong. We'll learn this thousand-year-old art and create a glowing piece to take home. Watch your colors glow.
What we'll do
- Learn about the materials and the process of chigiri-e
- Mindfully paint with paper to create a custom, handmade creation
- Enjoy letting that SHIFT glow
You'll leave with
