About this Event
Join Future Economy Scotland for the in-person launch of our timely new report, ‘Lessons from Grangemouth for a just transition’.
This event will mark the publication of a major research project we have undertaken which sets out what went wrong at Grangemouth, and how governments can plan early, use their leverage more assertively and put workers and communities at the centre of future transitions.
Speakers include:
- Miriam Brett (chair), Co-Director at Future Economy Scotland
- Hanna Wheatley, Senior Economist at Future Economy Scotland
- Roz Foyer, General Secretary of the STUC
- Dr Ewan Gibbs, Senior Lecturer in Economic and Social History at the University of Glasgow
- Brian Leishman, Member of Parliament for Alloa and Grangemouth (TBC)
The event will take place at the Scottish Poetry Library (3 minute walk from the Scottish Parliament) on Wednesday 9th December. We would encourage people to arrive from 6:30PM with the panel running from 7:00PM until 8:00PM. There will be an opportunity for attendees to chat about what they’ve heard afterwards. A selection of refreshments and snacks will be provided.
