Icons of contemporary Hawaiian music, Keola Beamer & Henry Kapono shot to the creative forefront as Hawaiian music reinvented itself during the “Hawaiian Renaissance” of the 1970s and have led the way ever since. Keola Beamer, one of Hawai'i's premier singers, composers and guitar masters, honored in the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame, helped launch the statewide revival of slack key guitar -- “There’s no better slack key player than Beamer” says Willie Nelson — and released top-selling Honolulu City Lights. Henry Kapono, Grammy-nominated and award-winning singer and songwriter, "one of the great island songwriters of his generation” (Honolulu Star-Advertiser), forged the sound of laid-back, contemporary island rock as part of the wildly popular group C&K and his solo and collaborative releases, now boasting 21 Nā Hōkū awards (Hawai‘i’s “Grammy®”), including Favorite Entertainer by popular vote.
Experience these two beloved legends side-by-side as Keola and Henry celebrate their pride in their Hawaiian culture and the joy of their Hawaiian Island home. Keola’s wife Moanalani Beamer brings hula and chant to the stage.
